Just a couple of weeks ago, I had the joy of visiting the most beautiful island I’ve seen so far when a very good friend invited me to join them in the Turks and Caicos Islands to spend some time at their condo in Grace Bay, Providenciales. My travel is usually planned well in advance, as I am one who usually has to let ideas regarding a trip marinade for a couple of days. This invitation was totally unexpected, but I followed my intuition, which so often leads to the best experiences and quickly booked a flight, grabbed my passport and packed a bag.
I flew American Airlines to Providenciales International Airport from Charlotte Douglas International in less than three hours and disembarked from my flight by ramp as there are no jet bridges. Arriving in TCI was exciting as I first caught sight of crystal-clear turquoise waters, and the soft, powdery white sand beaches from the plane and then the moment I landed, I was greeted by the warm Caribbean breeze. I was fortunate enough to arrive at a time when the customs process was moving relatively quickly and met with a welcoming smile from the agent upon entrance. I’ve been told the line of travelers can be very long as a result of multiple flights arriving around the same time and it can take up to two hours to get through the process. I felt so fortunate to get through in about thirty minutes.
My friend has owned real estate in TCI for over sixteen years and was there to pick me up, greeting me with big smile, warm hug and a bright red Jeep Wrangler. I was immediately happy and knew I had made the right decision in being spontaneous in joining them. I was ready for some sun, fun and relaxation!
To be continued…..
What a wonderful adventure, Leisa! Can’t wait to hear more!
Thanks, Patrice!
